At WODwell, we’ve always been passionate about making functional fitness accessible and effective for everyone.

Today, we’re taking a big step toward that goal with our newest innovation: the AI-powered click-to-scale feature — now available on every one of the 15,000+ (and growing) workouts in our database as well as for every workout in our training programs.

The Problem

Functional fitness is renowned for its adaptability, catering to athletes from 9 to 90 years old. But let’s face it — scaling and modifying workouts to suit every possible skill level and available equipment can be tricky, especially for newer athletes and those who don’t have the luxury of training with a coach. That’s where our AI comes in.

An Example

Imagine looking at a daunting workout, like many people think of “The Seven,” and feeling it’s out of your league. Or maybe you just don’t have all the equipment it calls for.

WODwell’s AI can scale and/or modify the workout for you to meet your needs.

“The Seven” Hero WOD is a grind! And it calls for a lot of equipment!

Get a version of the workout that works for you:

  • Scale to make it easier
    and/or
  • Modify to use your equipment

Scale to Make it Easier

Tell the AI what part(s) of the workout you need to scale to put the workout within your reach:

  • Duration — how long the workout is
    and/or
  • Skill — how technical the movements are
    and/or
  • Load — how heavy the weights are

Modify to Use Your Equipment

Tell the AI what equipment you have available.

Optional: Skip selecting your equipment each time. Create a“training location” (on your user profile > under ‘My Equipment’) that remembers what equipment you have available.

The AI will generate a custom version of the workout for you and explain the rationale for the scaling and modifications it made.
